🧑🌾 The Challenge Before 2024, a group of 25 women in Magoye relied on peasant farming to feed their families. Droughts, poor market access, and lack of startup capital made survival difficult. Most couldn’t afford school fees for their children or basic household needs. 💡 The Campaign With guidance from the EmpowerHer Project and the support of United Counters Limited, the women launched a crowdfunding campaign on Thandizo Zambia to raise K50,000. The funds would buy: 1,000 broiler chicks Feed and vaccines Basic poultry housing materials ❤️ The Response Within 45 days, generous Zambians and diaspora supporters came together to raise K52,800 — exceeding the target. Many donors shared words of encouragement, calling it “a story of women rising together.” 🌱 The Impact The women now run a small but thriving poultry business, selling over 900 chickens each month. Their average monthly income grew from K600 to K3,500. 10 children were re-enrolled in school using the project’s profits. The group plans to expand into egg production next year. 💬 A Quote from the Beneficiary “We never imagined that people we’ve never met could believe in us this much. Thandizo Zambia helped us turn our dreams into real work.” — Grace M., Project Leader, Magoye Women’s Cooperative 🎉 The Takeaway This campaign shows that when communities come together, even small contributions can change lives. Thandizo Zambia isn’t just a platform — it’s a bridge between hope and opportunity.
